Its clear as day to moi that the wikipedia.org pages on basic quant methods - complete with examples, diagrams, definitions, classifications, further links for more digging, and a cross-functional perspective (brings together diverse fields like genetics and pure math) - are worth a look-in.
And the case for doing so becomes even more acute when I figure that wiki pages are so much more simpler and better organized than the corresponding textbook slides.
I would urge a look-in. Right now, am working on cluster and factor analyses. The link below is for the former.

BTW, howz the data collection thing coming along, I wonder. Hope you're having fun with it. Yahan TV chaloo hai. Waiting for when aamchi Sachin crosses the magical 17,000 ODI runs mark.... I distinctly remember in 1989 when I was a class VII student when Sachin and Kambli first entered team India for ODIs.... wow - has it been that long already ?!?
